I know I’ve mentioned before that the original idea with Newton was for him to have been pushed into mad science by his father, when all he really wanted to do was bake desserts. That idea kind of got pushed to the wayside, and isn’t even really a part of his character now – he’s definitely committed to mad science in a cartoonish way – but I’ve always wanted to find a way for him to get back to his baking roots, even if only tangentially. If a person like me can find some satisfaction in producing a good loaf of banana bread, or a well-shaped blueberry muffin, imagine what it’d be like for a kid who wants to rule the world.
