My direct interactions with police officers have generally gone well. I’ve been pulled over while driving twice, once for running a light and another time for speeding, but I drove over to the side of the road almost immediately after the lights snapped on, I made sure all my paperwork was ready before the officer approached, and I was direct and took responsibility for my behavior both times, and both times, I was let off with a warning. I try to remind myself of those little adventures every time I get behind the wheel of my car, partly because I want to do what I can to contribute to a safe driving environment for everyone, and partly because I really can’t afford to pay any fines that get levied when you’re caught breaking laws. It’s worked pretty well so far; I hope it continues to do so.
Don’t you wonder how the police feel about having a school for mad scientists in their town? I do. Frequently. For that matter, how do they feel about super heroes?
