As a person who’s worked in a library for the last nine years, as the offspring of librarians who have siblings and cousins who are librarians, and were the offspring of librarians before them, I’ve spent a lot of time in libraries, and around people who’ve made them their life’s work. Herr Verklempt isn’t meant to be representative of any of them in any way (except in his ability to collect important information quickly), only that I’ve wanted a character with a monocle since Mad Scientist High started, and when I realized I hadn’t introduced the school librarian yet, well, the pieces just fell into place.
Does Herr Verklempt have an antagonistic history with The Human Pyramid? Man, I hope so.
