As I was coloring this strip, I had another bit of temporal consternation. While the geographic setting of Mad Scientist High has never really been specified, the fact that holidays are celebrated in the context of the strip means that time is passing, to some degree at least, and I started wondering why in the world Galt’s outside in the middle of December in a short-sleeved shirt (let alone why the sky was still richly blue and the grass green). Hence, the more muted colors in this particular exterior scene.
I’ve got to start working on winter outfits, and the drawing of snow and ice. Hooray for new challenges/ideas/stories!!
This strip explains why I’ve never really pursed being a smart-ass: you’re always running the risk of happening across someone who knows more than you do, and isn’t afraid of calling you on your crap.
